Best New Wordpress Themes

July 3, 2009 · Filed Under Internet · Comment

There are literally thousands of Wordpress themes out there are some good some bad, some that are seo friendly, some themes are Adsense ready. Most Wordpress themes are free and there are some really good free Wordpress themes. Though finding one that fits your blog can be a daunting task.

If you are looking for a specific theme for a certain niche like Real Estate, Travel, Finances, Business and more you will find need to search many different websites to find the best theme for you.

Although you can find some really good free Wordpress themes it may be well worth it to invest in a premium Wordpress theme. This blog here is actually a free Wordpress theme designed by Brian Gardner who is one of the best Wordpress designers but I also purchased a premium theme from Brian Gardner for one of my real estate blogs which was only $60 but well worth the investment.

Happy Independence Day Weekend

July 3, 2009 · Filed Under Entertainment · Comment

One of the most favorite and celebrated American holidays is Independence day you will see parties and celebrations all of the United States with firework displays throughout cities across the country. I’d like to to take this opportunity to thank all the current and past soldiers that have fought for our great country.

Growing up in Boston and for those who have not been during the 4th of July it is the greatest 4th of July festivities in the whole country. People will sit out for days to grab the best spot along the Charles River and the Esplanade to listen to the Boston Pops Orchestra and watch the wonderful fireworks display from the Charles River.

So to all my friends and family have a safe and happy Independence day weekend.

Is John Chow penalized by google?

June 30, 2009 · Filed Under Internet · 2 Comments

I recently was going some research and working on some SEO for my site and noticed that John Chow one of the world’s most well know affilate marketers site seems to be penalized by google. John Chow is showing only one index page.

Apparently the speculation for the google penalty is the use of paid links and paid posts which John Chow utilizes. John Chow himself has preached not to put all your eggs in googles basket but no doubt this google penalty has to be hurting him.

So if you purchased a link pointing from JohnChow.com hoping to gain value for your seo you at the moment are not gaining anything since his pages are not indexed.

John Chow is a smart affiliate marketer and no doubt will bounce back from this google penalty but it does go to show you that you really need follow googles webmaster guidelines to avoid such penalties as they will even penalize one of the most popular websites out there.

John is now doing a 301 redirect to JohnChow.ca which is supposedly not selling links and is 100% google compliant but time will tell if this is going to be frown down on by google as well. Maybe John will comment here and let us know what the status is.

Work at home blogging

June 7, 2009 · Filed Under Internet · 10 Comments

With the state of the economy and unemployment rate more and more people are turning to the internet and blogging to make money. There are several different avenues you can make money through blogging and here are some of the most popular ways.

Writing your own personal blog There have been many successful bloggers that have built an audience just by blogging about their daily personal life. You will find this with the many wonderful stay at home moms that have become successful in the blogging world.

Writing a blog about a specific niche market. What it is you enjoy? If you have a passion about something it makes it a lot easier to be an authority on it and will show up in your blogging. Build a blog by targeting a specific niche market and become the expert in that field.

Writing Guest Blogs OK so you don’t want to go through the trouble of setting up your own wordpress blog but you have great writing skills you want to showcase. Well there are many bloggers that will pay you to write a blog post as well as many affiliate programs that offer a pay per post contract.

Do you know of a great pay per post affiliate or blogger that will pay to post new blog posts? If so we would love to hear your comments.

Guest Bloggers Wanted

June 2, 2009 · Filed Under Internet · 13 Comments

When I started out this blog I wanted it to be a blog just like the name says a blog about everything. I have recently decided in order for that to happen I need to reach out to my fellow bloggers for assistance. Besides there is no way I can possibly write or pretend to know everything, although sometimes I act like I do (grin). So I leave it up to my audience out there that are interested in writing a guest blog post and since this is a blog about everything I am sure your topic will be just fine and dandy. So whether it be entertainment, sports, cooking, travel, business, stocks, poker, gambling, technology, social media, so and so forth I want to hear from you.

Now the question is asked why would I write a guest blog post on your blog how is that going to benefit me?  Well of course it is added exposure to yourself as this blog does have very good traffic, it also will benefit your seo for your site as I will allow for backlinks in the post but please keep to minimum of up to three backlinks. I will also list your twitter url in the post.

All I ask is that your guest post be original in that it is your writing and has not been posted somewhere before or a cut and paste. I usually stay away from controversial topics but as long as I can put the finger at you if someone gets pissed that is fine, please not too controversial. I can not accept adult posts as it violates google adsense policies and there is really enough of that out there already anyways.

So now you made that decision to guest post what to do next? The best way is to follow me on twitter @dannyintampa and send me a direct message and I will provide you with my email address or use our contact form, if you are a blogger and not on twitter what the hell is a matter with you?

Do Follow Today No Follow Tomorrow

June 1, 2009 · Filed Under Internet · 17 Comments

I touched upon this on a previous post about how many bloggers will promote their blogs as do follow then come to find out down the road their site becomes no follow. You are now seeing this trend with a lot of popular social bookmarking sites.

There are many do follow blog lists out there and you will find out half the blogs on these lists are actual no follow blogs , now some blogs may look like no follow but actually have a comment policy where sometimes you have to leave a minimum amount of comments before it goes do follow. But most of these blogs just go bait and switch with the no follow.

So the link juice you think you are getting may only be temporary so if you plan on utilizing do follow commenting as your link building strategy be prepared for the fact that many of your comments and bookmarking links  will eventually lose any value in terms of passing pagerank.

I like to comment on blogs whether they are do follow or no follow as long as they are relevant to my blog and I feel I can contribute to the blog and add value with my opinion. To me a link is a link and although you may not gain any value in googles eyes there are still other search engines that don’t utilize no follow, not to mention the fact you may pick up some new visitors from the comment you leave on the blog.

I however don’t like the fact of this trend and if I feel that the blogger does this intentionally they are going to lose me as a visitor and I am sure others as well. Now I know what you are saying who cares if they lose you, well that is fine by me but it is just the principle if you start a do follow blog then stay the course and don’t tell me the spam comments are to much to keep up with, you knew what it was going to be like from the get go.

Please I would love to hear your opinion on this.

UFC 98 Evans vs Machida

May 22, 2009 · Filed Under Mixed Martial Arts · 5 Comments

UFC 98 headlines with two undefeated fighters Rashad “Suga” Evans who is now the light heavyweight champion takes on karate specialist Lyoto “the dragon” Machida. Rashad Evans has demonstrated unbelievable striking power and recently knocked out Chuck Liddel in one of the most vicious knockouts I have seen and won the belt with a TKO of Forrest Griffin.

Machida is coming off impressive wins over Thiago Silva and Tito Ortiz. The question in this match will Evans be able to connect the power shot on the elusive Machida. Lyoto looks to show the world that the traditional karate martial arts can be on the top of the UFC and is very determined to win the belt.

My prediction is Lyoto wins a unanimous decision but don’t go bet your house on it as this is a tough one to predict and can go either way. I would love to hear who you think will win this fight cast your vote below.

Who will win UFC 98?

The other fight I am excited about is Matt Serra Vs Matt Hughes as there is very bad blood between these two fighters that stem back to when the two fighters were coaches on the ultimate fighter.

This is one of those fights that can end up being three rounds of not to much action knowing Hughes is looking to ground and pound Serra and if unable to mount and put Serra into a vicarious situation could lessen the action. Serra is looking to blast Hughes and put a hurting on him from his feet with his striking power. I know neither one of these fighters wants to lose to each other. I am going to predict Serra wins this one.
