WordPress is no question the most popular blogging platform. When you install WordPress however you really need to know how make you WordPress blog kick some butt and you will need to do that with WordPress plugins. If you are new to blogging and you are asking what is a WordPress plugin? It is a add on you can incorporate into your basic standard blog that improves the functionality of your blog. Here are some of the must have plugins I have on my blogs.

  • All in One Seo Pack This should be one the first plugins you install. Makes creating meta tags, meta keywords, and optimizing the title for each post simple to avoid duplicate content. You want to make sure you learn all the seo wordpress blog tips to make your blog search engine friendly.
  • Dagon Design Sitemap Generator This plugin will generate a sitemap on your blog to make navigating your blog easy. This sitemap is highly customizable.
  • Google Xml SitemapsThis plugin automatically creates an xml sitemap and is updated on every post or page you create. This will tell the search engines you have fresh new content.
  • Popular PostsThis plugin will show the most popular posts on your blog and you can customize the number of posts to show.
  • One Click Plugin Updater This should be the very first plugin you install it will save you a boatload of time when installing your plugins, there is no need to ftp the plugins into your plugins folder, all you have to do is copy the url of where the plugin is installed and press the install button.
  • Robots Meta This handy plugin allows you to specify each and every post individually whether it should be index or not. You can also prevent indexing of your blogs login pages, register pages, search results page, author and date based archives, tag and categories if you so do choose. I have tags set not to index but my categories page to index. You can also set your outbound links with a nofollow tag and your internal category pages with the nofollow tag.
  • Subscribe to Comments When you get someone who comments on your blog you want them to return to your site, so you want to make sure you give them the option to subscribe to comments which will notify when there are other comments made on that particular post.
  • Wassup Wassup is a real time stats plugin that will show you where your traffic is coming from, keywords, what search engine referered, how many page hits and more. I still recommend installing google analytics also, Wassup is better for checking real time stats.
  • Askimet If you want to keep you sanity in battling spam then you probably want to install Askimet. You will need a wordpress api key to work.
  • WP Super Cache By using this plugin you will speed up your WordPress blog significantly. When it is installed, html files are generated and they are served without ever invoking a single line of PHP.
  • Sociable Easily allows you to add posts to your favorite social networking and social bookmark sites

There are many more plugins especially for social networking and depending on how much social networking you do there are plenty of wordpress plugins for twitter and all the other social networks you can incorporate into your blog. Seo WordPress Blog Tips

The purpose of writing blogs is so you can have people viewing and communicating with you. There are many types of blogs from business blogs to personal blogs, sports blogs, and so on. For what ever type of blog you have you more than likely are going to want to drive more traffic to your blog. It does not make sense to work so hard on your blog and not have the best chance of gaining more traffic because your blog is not seo optimized. I am going to show you some tips on how to seo your wordpress blog.

  1. Change your permalinks. From the dashboard click on settings then click permalinks copy and paste this /%postname%/ into the custom structure box. What this does is very important since instead of the url saying ?p=123 it will put in the title of your post which is keyword rich to what your page is about.


  2. Change single posts titles. By default this is set to show the blogs default title plus the post title. This is not optimal since the blogs title is going to be on each and every page, You want just the post title to show up so the keywords do net get diluted. This is one thing I see most blogs are missing and I think it one of the most important. To change this you will need to go into the design then theme editor then go to your header file and in between the title paste the following code

Should I choose GoDaddy unlimited domains?

I know many people know who GoDaddy.com Hosting Plans is because of the wild and crazy Super Bowl Ads they run during the big game. Some may not who go daddy is although I can’t imagine since the Super Bowl is one the most watched events in the whole world. Super Bowl comes to Tampa

Wow I can’t even believe it is already week 11 of the NFL season. Football season goes by way to fast. Although my Patriots are hanging in there without Tom Brady I am skeptical that they can make it to the Super Bowl this year. I am exciting about this years Super Bowl because it is being played in my hometown of Tampa, the last time it was played in Tampa we were living in Boston.

Our first trip to the Super Bowl was when the Patriots played the Eagles in Jacksonville we rented an RV and drove from Tampa to Jacksonville for the weekend to enjoy the Super Bowl festivities. Unfortunately dealing with the obnoxious Eagles fans kind of made it an unpleasant experience to an extent.

I am looking forward to this years Super Bowl and although we don’t know who is playing yet whichever teams are lucky enough to go will enjoy the beautiful city of Tampa and everything it has to offer. I have seen people already advertising to rent out their homes in and around the Tampa vicinity.

I am sure the hot spot for celebrities and the athletes will be Tampa’s Hard Rock casino where they now offer table games like blackjack and three card poker.

Season 7 Curb Your Enthusiasm

Ok you Larry David fans of HBO’s Curb your enthusiasm. You got your wish, Curb your enthusiasm will begin filming it’s 7th season in a few weeks according to Tim Gibbons the shows executive producer who announced the news via twitter Tim Gibbons. How cool is that. The first episode of the new season will air sometime in 2009. I wonder if we can get a sneak preview from Tim on the new season? I am working on my top ten curb your enthusiasm episodes it is so hard to choose the best ten because there are so many funny ones.

How does craigslist make money?

I always wonder how craigslist made money. Don’t really ever see any ads ever being shown. Craigslist is by far the leader on free online classified ads and has built a solid online presence with more than twelve billion views per month, not to shabby eh? Craigslist was started back in 1995 by Craig Newmark. Craigs list has about twenty five employees. Ok but how does craigslist make money? Well according to their website in their frequently asked questions.

Q: Why doesn’t craigslist focus more on generating revenue?
A: We rely on local communities to suggest ways to make money without compromising craigslist.

Ok craigslist relies on local communities to suggest ways to make money whatever the heck that means. I know they also make money from donations and also from the job ads. That’s it I wouldn’t think by just charging the job ads would make craigslist such a profitable company but it apparently does. Not to many online websites are built like the craigslist model, they have certainly formed a model that works for them and although have the ability to generate massive amounts of revenue from advertising they elect not to at the moment and keep their website advertisement free.

My opinion is craigslist is a lottery ticket just waiting to be cashed, question is whether when or if ever it will be. What do you think, would you still utilize craigslist if it began running advertisement on their site?

I have yet to come across anyone who has watched Curb your Enthusiasm not say it was the funny show on television when I first started watching Curb your enthusiasm I would laugh my ass off but my wife thought it was stupid but my wife has come around and thinks it is hysterical. Larry David is one funny man and considered a comic genius.

I sometimes get myself caught up in a Larry David moment and say to myself what would Larry do? But then think to myself maybe Larry’s ways would not be the best ways to get yourself out of trouble but you have to admire his sticking to his guns and always saying how he really feels instead of holding back like most people would.

You would never think Larry David is multi millionaire and he could possibly have any problems but just the daily ritual of living gets Larry in trouble. He is amazing at turning his ordinary life and turning into a comedic story. It is so tough to choose the top 5 or even 10 favorite Curb episodes but some of mine would be the doll Episode and the ski lift huge vagina episode
