For many of the experience bloggers who do know what do follow blogs are I am sorry but this may bore you I recommend to scroll down the page for our list of do follow blogs but for those newbie bloggers I am going to tell you what exactly a do follow blog is. In the wordpress blog platform the comments are automatically set to the no follow tag what this means is that for any comments that are made the website url that you are allowed to put in when you make a comment will not pass any pr juice for googles pagerank to your website.
There are some great tools to check whether a blog is no follow here is one which is a firfox addon called search status another way would be to view the source code and find the url and if it has this after the url “rel=”no follow” then it is not passing any google juice your way.
If you would like to remove the no follow tag on your wordpress blog there are several plugins that allow you to this and after you install it will automatically remove the do follow on your comments section. Here is the newest do follow plugin that will allow you to add no follows case by case
Many bloggers will make comments on do follow blogs for the seo benefits to make their site more popular and gain better pagerank and has become a vital part of a blogs linking strategy but it is a good idea to make comments on blogs that appeal to you and your audience which will allow you to build relationships with other bloggers.Now there are also problems will do follow blogs if you are planning to comment on do follow blogs just for the seo benefits which I have wrote about.
The benefits of having your site a do follow blog would be you will gain more comments and return visitors and who knows might gain a new rss subscription or a sale from one of your advertisers although most of this traffic will be less of a return than search engine traffic. It also can help your alexa ranking since you will be gaining more traffic although I hate Alexa and believe it is such a false portrayal of website rankings but some people swear by it.
The drawback of having a do follow blog will be the amount of spam you will receive which you will need to keep up with and I do recommend using the askimet plugin to battle spam, when I say battle I mean battle since spam is such a freaking problem still nowadays. I would also recommend having a commenting policy which I am working on now on my blog to let your commenter’s to make quality comments that pertain to the blog post and not just comments like great post! Or wow really cool.

The dofollow blogs are bloggers who have not succumbed to PageRank greed. The nofollow bogs will do no better, receive less comments and useful conversation to their blogs and still not get any farther ahead of the doffoloow blogs. Thanks for keeping you blog as a dofollow blog.

Do follow blogs links are the back bone of SEO/SEM. As when a page gets higher page rank, it will be instantly indexed by the searched engines when it will be optimized for first page of the search engine.
I have only recently made my own blog and have made a couple of posts on it already.
Both of my blogs are doFollow, as I feel that people/visitors are more likely to post/add to the article if they feel they are getting something out of it, but also if they feel they can add to the discussion with their opinions and views on the article subject, thus improving the integrity of the article itself, but also the blog as a whole.
So far, I am yet to have issues with spam (or ANY comments for that matter) on my personal blog, http://www.seemly.co.uk/blog/.
I do use the Askimet plugin for both my personal blog and a tutorial site for learning HTML & CSS at http://www.learncss.co.uk, so when the spam starts rolling in, this powerful tool should help me keep it under control! =)

Danny, I like the list you have. Many sites list links to dofollow directories and by the time you’ve found a link that you can examine for suitability you could have commented at a few other blogs already – using your list above for example.
It’s important not to overthink commenting. If you have a list of dofollow (preferable CommentLuv enabled blogs) just click on one, visit, comment and consider returning.

I grabbed the list from the other link you gave in the start, which pointed me on diigo.
There are definite benefits of having a dofollow blog but the real problem starts when your blog is growing so the number of spam also grows and you don’t find time to monitor all those comments. And you do not always get loyal visitors who would visit your blog daily or contribute to it regularly…there will always be people who would just comment once and disappear. So that’s why it’s always a nice idea to keep nofollow/dofollow mix, like lifting up nofollow after a commenter has made 3-4 good comments.
In my (limited) experience, blogs seem to earn points (and page rank) from Google by having a large number of comments. So if a comment is added to a blog, whether with a follow or a no-follow link, isn’t it adding to the value of that blog? Yet on the other hand a no-follow link, which according to Google is intended to prevent spam, also has the result of not rewarding the serious commentator. There must be better methods of preventing spam.
Dofollow blogs are always the target of spammers, but you can still maintain the quality of comments by moderating them. Involves some of your time but its all worth it.

Thank for tip about askimet plugin. I often get “Great post” comments on my blogs about tips on foreclosure in Arizona which is quite annoying. Don’t they at least, take a few minutes to actually read the blog, so, they can put comment about it not just the usual “Great post.”
I think do follow is great, I dont think that allowing user to comments will increase much traffic, we can stop spammers and bots by different means but if a geniun user want to share its comments or link it is not going to effect your blog. atleast it is visiting and spending some of his time on your blog. one must respect that.
Although their so many benefits of do follow blogs but one major drawback of having a do follow blog will be the amount of spam you will receive .

Thanks for updating the list. I see sites listed as do follow that are not and some take comments off after awhile. If site is related in topic it can increase traffic also so even if they are not do follow sometimes they still help your site out.

I Love this Blog, and several other do follow ones, but I have to be honest. I have posted plenty on several do follow high page rank Blogs, and seen little to no difference in my web rankings, since Google merged the maps stuff with the Organic.
I just post now it out of “instinct and habit”, and because I actually enjoy it!

Some great info on do follow blogs. I personally think that the benefit of do follow comments encourages more people to leave relevant and constructive comments on posts. More activity on posts may well help to drive more traffic to the blog.
The Bottom Line is this. We love Comment Luv as much as we love Keyword Luv. We only follow Do Follow Blogs, and we do not follow no follow blogs. Why waste time with them ? So many DO Follow Blogs to post on ….. so little time for a busy roof cleaning company in Tampa

Having a dofollow blog is very rewarding as it makes people want to contribute more and everyone wins! With the keywordluv plugin I think it is important to moderate all comments or install a spam filter as we don’t want the spammers ruining it for the rest of us!
I made my Blogger Blog DO FOLLOW. By default, Blogspot Blogs are NO FOLLOW. I have heard there is a CommentLuv plug in for Blogger, but I do not have it installed yet. Since I went Do Follow, my comments have increased!

Do follow blog are very useful to increase the ranking of the site but very difficult to handle the spammers. Sometimes plug-ins also fail to capture the spammers.

I always do dofollow blogs. Some say that this will gather spammers, but if you know how to combat them it won’t be a problem. I think the do follow link is just a proof of respect. I know some Romanian bloggers who claimed to be the biggest do followers around and after a week or so, disabled the plugin.

While “DoFollow” has been largely criticized, one has to wonder the value of links on a site that has thousands of “nice post” comments.
Will this do anything to establish relationships with the blog owner, with other bloggers? Probably not.
DoFollow is in my opinion, a way to simply get around Google. I’m guessing the latest Panda update showed exactly how effective this strategy has been.

I have recently begun blogging and here for suggestions. The dofollow blog thing is new too and its nice to learn about it before gets late. I am hoping to read some more similar posts. Please tell us about article directories too because I cannot figure out to which directory should I send my article in order to get backlinks.
I think that having a do follow blog you are able to get more traffic. Especially when your blog is very new. Yes people might be coming just for the link but some of them are going to hang around and read a little. It’s these ones you are providing the do follow for. The others if it’s just spam you just put it in the bin.
Going DoFollow is definitely a nice thing. It can be helpful to other bloggers. But with the amount of spam that happens, it makes bloggers think twice before they allow DoFollow links on their blogs. I personally would prefer having 5-6 decent comments than having 100s of unworthy ones.
