Multiple resources can help to create an enriched blog that attracts a larger number of readers from different backgrounds.

iStockphoto.com or ThinkStockPhotos.com

Images are almost as important as the content on the blog, and sometimes they carry even more value than the content. No good blogger can afford to ignore the importance of images. It is not just about adding some color and style to your blog, the images can make the words spring to life and provide a clarification that your competition is not managing to do. Access to good images is necessary to make the blog posts more creative and visually enriched. iStock Photo is an excellent online resource that includes tons of images as is Think Stock Photos.

Both offer royalty-free stock photos and illustrations as well as premium quality paid images. Bloggers can find some of the finest stock image collections on these websites.

HelpAReporter.com

Help a Reporter Out (HARO) is a unique service for journalists, reporters and bloggers. It collects valuable information and feedback from a wide variety of sources, and provides it for free for the purpose of information dissemination. The site can be used effectively to promote an informative blog.

Bloggers can join this service for free, and receive three email messages a day in their Inbox with media queries on a broad range of subjects. If the bloggers have expert knowledge to answer any of the queries, they can respond with a “pitch” to subtly promote their own blog in the process. This can help to take out valuable content from the blog and obtain it a wider exposure on other media platforms.

FitBlogChats.com

FitBlog Chat on Twitter every Tuesday night is a popular online event in the world of social networking. However, FitBlogChats offers a lot more than just the weekly chat. Bloggers can benefit from a wealth of information that is contained in its chat archives available for free on their website. New bloggers can learn a great deal from the archived presentations that provide excellent information for bloggers. The presentations and webinars are a priceless resource to enhance a blog, and the best part is that it comes entirely free of cost.

CopyBlogger.com

CopyBlogger is an excellent online resource for both new and experienced bloggers. The site offers hundreds of brilliant articles and guides on blogging. It offers innovative tips on how to drive relevant traffic to your blog. Some bloggers are great writers but do not know how to optimize and promote their blog for search engines. CopyBlogger is a great site for such bloggers with its precious insights on SEO and marketing of a blog.

ProBlogger.net

ProBlogger is one of the popular sites for bloggers, which offers innovative information and resources on how to start blogging and how to make money off your blog. The site was founded by Darren Rowse who is a highly successful blogger, consultant, and speaker. It offers valuable and regularly updated information on jobs for bloggers, online business ideas for bloggers, and blogging tips for beginners.

Luggage today has to be stylish and functional, but each aspect is a formal requirement, no one travels with ripped bags or tapped boxes, and we mean this seriously.

The newest luggage has nylon which is impenetrable and has secure retractable handles that won’t pull out of joint or come out of the track. The wheels are built in and swivel in every direction so that the traveler can change directions at the drop of a dime, which is a realistic situation in an airport when the gate has been unexpectedly changed. Of course, everyone wants a piece of luggage which is different and unique – so that it can be spotted quickly on the turnstile when luggage is being retrieved at the end of the flight. In the old days, there were scrunchies sewed to the handles or even duct tape slashed down the sides of the bag for ease of identification. Those days are over and now unusual patterns, designs and custom colors are de rigueur if one wants to be considered a world traveler.

Luggage is made for several markets: students, teens, upscale travelers, reasonably priced pieces and practical all the way luggage for everyday use. With the upscale markets, imported leather and designer labels rule with luggage price tags which range in the several hundred to several thousands of dollars. Luggage for youths includes reflective straps for safety and can have blinking lights to help parents find their children in crowded airports. Women are by far by the most luggage and they have the coolest patterns available from plaids to floral designs. They have secret compartments galore and are able to store toiletries, makeup, magazines and all clothing items securely in the new trend luggage made just to fit their needs. Most men are happy with the basic black luggage which is functional, can hold a business suit and has an outward compartment for golf shoes.

When choosing luggage it is still important to go over the basics. Do you want a hard side case in metal or plastic or a soft nylon sided case which will offer no protection if crushed against other bags, but has more give in it when over packing is necessary. If the nylon luggage is the best option for the traveler for ease of transport and light weight even after fully packed, the nylon itself should be the best and strongest fabric available. Some manufacturers call this nylon ballistic (like the stuff of bullet proof vests) and the fabric is typically puncture and cut proof to protect the belongings especially on long international flights.

When it comes to zippers, the best ones may be plastic since the metal zippers tend to get tangled up and are difficult and expensive to repair. The wheels should revolve in a smooth circle, not get stuck when pushed in different directions (consider the horror of the “shopping cart wheels syndrome” as you are rushing for a last call of your flight while standing at the wrong gate, you want those wheels to fly through that airport as fast as you do, not be a dead weight you have to carry down several concourses to your destination). The carrying handles on the luggage should be larger than your hand and should have a wide enough handle that a person’s hand will not be pinched or injured when pulling it in any direction. If the handle locks in place but is easily retractable, this is the best deal. If the handle is telescopic and is smoothly opened or closed, it makes it easier for the traveler to operate when walking, sitting, getting into a bus or cart or when getting into a car or taxi at the final destination.

Remember, most airlines have a limit to the size of luggage taken on the plane (22 inches domestic and 20 inches for international flights) and some require gate checking even if the bag is under the requirement. The total dimensions of the bag cannot exceed 62 inches (domestic) and have a weight limit of no more than 50 pounds (international is usually half this weight). So consider the weight of a hard sided bag before it is even packed, it may be over the weight limit at half full. Finally, forget locking the bag since TSA requires that all bags be accessible. There was a lock offered years ago with a universal TSA accessible key, but most people forgo this as one more hassle at the airport – if it is locked expect that it will be required to be opened for that reason alone. In terms of identification, Tumi luggage offers specific bar codes on bags which can be traced to the original owners and new innovations in luggage are being developed to make the bags easier to find among other bags.

Safety is the most important, so let’s first talk about safety tips. Buy yourself a good helmet. This could mean the difference between life and death, so please take this point very seriously. Unfortunately, bikers are killed every single day on the road.

When you are on the road stick to the speed limit and don’t tailgate people. Use your signals and also use both of your brakes and try to brake slow and steady. This is important for maintaining control over your bike.

Constant alertness is vital, after all, you never know when some idiot driving an SUV may swerve into your lane, or cut you off inadvertently. Even long term veterans of motorcycle riding crash sometimes, so no matter how experienced you become, never think that you are beyond harm or untouchable. All it takes is one second of distraction, and it’s all over. Being sharp and vigilant are a must for all motorcycle riders, both new and old. But, just as a warning to newbies, the cause of many motorcycle crashes are due to a lack of basic riding skills, according to US government statistics.

It’s important to read your motorcycle’s instruction manual thoroughly, and attending a motorcycle training class is not a bad idea, either. Please become aware of all traffic rules that apply to motorcycles, and avoid riding in between lanes of stopped or slow moving traffic. We’ve all seen that before- we are stuck at a dead pace in traffic, and some motorbike comes zipping in between the lanes. That kind of stuff tends to piss people off pretty easily, so don’t do it. It’s important to maintain respect between motorcycle riders and automobile drivers.

Now, let us talk about how you can look very cool while riding your new motorcycle. I probably don’t need to tell you this, but the first thing is- buy yourself a black leather jacket as soon as possible. The more zippers and chains on your black leather jacket, the cooler you will look.

Also, buy yourself a pair of black boots, and the longer they are the better. If your boots have spikes in them, you get an extra ten points in style. Aside from looking cool, a heavy leather jacket, long boots, and strong gloves also help aide your safety, because in a crash, they may be all that separates you from the pavement.

Motorcycle riding is pure pleasure, and once you have started, it will be almost impossible to stop or to give it up. It’s hard to describe the feeling you get being totally in touch with the road while riding your motorcycle. Riding in cars feels artificial, like you are viewing the world through a screen and riding your motorcycle is a very distinct experience by comparison.

In the beginning, learning to ride a motorcycle may take time and effort, but after some time, once you get the hang of it and it becomes natural, it becomes pure joy. Welcome to the fun-filled world of motorcycle riding!

JT writes about motorcycle tips and provides riders with information regarding safe riding for the motorcycle insurance blog.

People are drawn to neighborhoods for a variety of reasons, but there are a few simple rules to follow if finding the right home is a priority and it is necessary to get it right to maintain a high quality of life.

If a gentler pace is required, a quiet neighborhood will be necessary. If you crave excitement and prefer to be in an area which is lively, full of restaurants and shopping, it is best to look for a home within walking area of a city center for taking advantage of this type of neighborhood.

How should a neighborhood be judged? Think of it this way: would you want to walk around the block, or up the hill in your new neighborhood at midnight? Because you may need to walk in your new neighborhood during these times, such as: in an emergency (the car stalls a block from home or you get a flat tire within eye sight of your own garage), or the storm knocks out the lights (you have to go to a neighbor’s home who has a generator for a hot shower), your dog gets loose from the yard at night (and you have to go looking around behind buildings and homes for the dog that went missing), or you are just returning home from a new resident block party (as you walk home during seasonal holidays from a new neighbor’s home up the street). It is important to ask yourself again, in reference to that new home, condo, duplex, apartment or condex: is this the place you will feel comfortable walking around in at midnight on any given night during the year? If the answer is yes, you may have found a great new neighborhood. If the answer is no, keep looking because you will regret being in the wrong place at the wrong time (even if that place is outside of your door during the wee hours of the morning – a place which you have every right to be in, truth be told).

It may be easier to work backwards and make a list of everything that is not wanted in a neighborhood. The new neighborhood is made up of more than just other homes, it includes land and people too! In terms of the land, it is necessary to consider the natural distribution of resources on the land (this means understand where the water runs off in a flood, and whether your home is at the bottom of a hill and will tend to flood faster as a result). The people already living in the area should also be considered when looking for a new neighborhood.

First let’s start with the other homes. You don’t want to live in the best and most expensive home on the street or the worst place in a neighborhood. If your home is the best or the worst home in any category, it may be a target for undesirable people who may assume it will be vulnerable to break-ins, vandalism or general nuisance traffic and trespassing. This includes people who may solicit door to door to sell scam magazines or painting services. The best option when looking for a new neighborhood is to look around neighborhoods carefully without being judgmental, and to look at how the neighbors around the new location keep up their property. That house across the street with the peeling paint and loose side boards today will be a real eyesore in a few years. Also check out the backyards as you drive around the street and see what is kept in those areas. If there is a yard housing old appliances and used cars, there may be unwanted traffic for parts on the main street as a result. If you find tall grass, unkempt dog kennels, rusty toys and bikes or other neglected or inappropriate items, keep driving since this is not the neighborhood for you. Also notice if there are loose dogs which could be an issue if you plan to jog daily in the area. Ask around for any natural wildlife, such as wild coyotes, deer, rodents, foxes (and for some New England states: bear, moose, turkeys and porcupines).

Next consider the other people living in the area. If the neighbors are people interested in mingling and getting to know newcomers, this may be a great neighborhood for you. Does the neighborhood have an informal or formal block watch program? Do they have block parties regularly or share a communal garden or walking trail? These are all appropriate questions to ask as you walk the beat to see if you might be a good fit in the area.

Find out if the area you plan to live in has easy access to highways and main roads, is planning to develop in the next few years by adding homes or duplexes, is near a school or is planning to do major renovations for sewers or adding green space.

Once you are armed with this wealth of information, you can make the most informed decision on which neighborhood you choose to live in, and be happy there for many years to come.

More and more people are hoping to avoid using medication for treatment and are turning to more natural alternative therapies for relief.

Today, there are plenty of ways to treat certain illnesses naturally. For many, all it takes is research and an open mind. Here are 3 common alternative treatments that are currently used frequently to help alleviate the symptoms of digestive problems.

1. Yoga
Yoga has been the go-to method for many different reasons. The mental and physical benefits are what have made it so popular today. Basic yoga poses such as the pose of the child and the cat stretch has been proven to help the digestive system.

2. Acupuncture
Acupuncture is another method that has been used for digestive problems. Doctors and scientist about its effectiveness have long criticized this ancient Chinese medicine. However, many who have tried acupuncture will swear by the results.

Acupuncture involves inserting thin, painless needles into the skin. It can manipulate nerves, energy and pressure points. Relief from pain is the most common reason for acupuncture. Of course, acupuncture will not help everyone and every condition. However, this ancient medicine is still being used for a reason.

3. Herbal Remedies
The use of herbs is one the most recommended forms of alternative medicine. There are herbs suggested to treat almost any medical illness. Remedies like Filipendula Ulmaria are known to aid the digestive tract. Like medication, herbal remedies can have side effects. One should do their research before consumption.
Our bodies need to be cleansed one way or another. Eating habits can often prevent toxins from leaving our bodies, as they should. An occasional natural cleanse is an excellent choice for digestive health. The most popular is a colon cleanse. This process leaves the body feeling rejuvenated and will allow easier bowel movements.

Improving your digestive system can be simple. It begins with what you eat and how you eat it. Drinking plenty of water will be the first step to promoting digestive health. One should include fiber in their diet and try not to overeat. Many people overlook the benefits of yogurt in their diet also. The bacteria in yogurt can help with several problems, including irritable bowel syndrome.

Holistic remedies are very beneficial to one’s health. Depending on the situation, there could be great results. However, holistic treatment is not effective for all medical problems. Therefore, it is advised to speak with your doctor about your treatment options.

Emily is a health blogger and contributing writer for IBStreatment, a site that offers patients who have been diagnosed a wide variety of options including the use of Lomotil for IBS treatment.

Nothing can ruin a trip more quickly than falling victim to petty crime, but unfortunately travelers are often victims of violent crime that can have devastating effects.

To help keep you, and your travelling companions, safer try following these ten tips.

Arrive at your destination during the day

Big cities can be eerily frightening at night. Small towns can look almost deserted. No matter your destination, arriving during the day allows you to get your bearings and acclimate yourself much easier than at night.

Be confident

Walk like you know where you are going with your head and eyes up. If you are constantly checking your bearings or your map you are going to draw instant attention. Map out your routes in your hotel room or in your car when no one can see you.

Carry a throw away wallet

When held up, a robber generally just wants some cash. If you have a decoy wallet with a small, but decent amount of cash and a few older membership cards (not credit cards) you can usually give this up and avoid the situation from escalating. You lose the money, but you don’t lose the documentation or credit cards.

Use the hotel room safe

Many people hate being squeezed for a few extra bucks by their hotel, but this certainly beats having your laptop, iPod or jewelry stolen by the staff or a thief that targets hotel rooms.

Ask the concierge

In larger cities, a dangerous neighborhood can easily be just a few blocks away from one of the nicer areas. Ask the hotel concierge about areas to avoid when leaving the hotel. They may even be able to alert you to some of the more common crime trends that have been on the local news.

Ease up on the alcohol

A person who is visibly tipsy is a much easier mark for any criminal than someone who is clearly sober. Add to it the tendency to make poor decisions when you are inebriated and you have a perfect mix for becoming a victim of crime.

Photocopy documents

While this doesn’t help prevent crime, it does help you recover faster if you are a victim. Having passport information, credit card numbers, driver’s license information, etc. at your fingertips will help you get back on your feet more quickly.

Divide up valuables

Packing all of your jewelry or electronics in one bag may make sense, until your bag is stolen. Keep expensive items separate so that thieves can’t snatch everything in one easy grab.

Consider credit cards over cash

Sure it may cost a bit more, but if your cards are stolen you can cancel them and dispute fraudulent charges. Once the cash is gone, it’s gone.

Avoid packing unnecessary valuables

If you don’t bring it with you, it can’t get stolen on your trip. If you don’t need something avoid packing it along just in case.

Bonus tip – Check your credit card statements closely after travelling. While it may be safer to use plastic over paper, credit card numbers can be stolen and used fraudulently. Make sure yours wasn’t lifted by a local by checking your account.

Between visiting family and friends and escaping from the cold winter, boarding a plane has never looked so good. This year, try something new! Here are 5 of the most popular travel destinations this year:

Paris
This one has always remained a favorite with holiday revelers – the place on earth where the reigning religion is Gastronomy and the holy trinity seems to be Fashion, food and wine. The style capital of the world promises a great experience for the Christmas holidays. Shop till you drop in the day time and sip cool French wine in the evenings and enjoy the fireworks in the night sky. The lighting and celebrations at the Notre Dame Cathedral and the Champs Elysees are Parisian highlights during Christmas.

New York
Christmas is no less electrifying in The Big Apple. Plenty of shopping to be done at Fifth Avenue; ice-skating at the Rockefeller Centre is always a big favorite. Attending the Mass at St. Patrick’s cathedral is another joy that holidays in New York entail. Although the weather is surely cold, New York remains one of the hottest holiday destinations.

Goa
This beautiful state in the south of India is a must-visit during Christmas. The Christmas spirit permeates everything in the place during this time. Beaches with all night parties, excellent wines and drinks, and the best sea food that you have ever tasted this side of the globe, that is what Goa is all about. Magnificent old churches add to the charm. The old Portuguese colony still retains some of its ancient culture and the best part about Goa is that it is one of the most remarkable yet cheapest destinations.

Las Vegas
The sin city cannot be far behind in any list of popular destinations for any time. But it does out beats itself during Christmas time. Every casino in the place has something new and outlandish to offer visitors. Exciting shopping malls, The Ethel M Chocolate factory and the cactus garden are all worth a visit. The Fremont street experience is quite something else.

Rio de Janeiro
A land of spectacular beauty, fascinating religious places and music concerts, this place is a sight during Christmas. The famous floating of the colossal Christmas tree on the lake Lagoa, washing church steps with beautifully scented water, the numerous Christmas fairs and craft shows are just some of the few things that Rio de Janeiro offers.

So, get busy, make your bookings, and catch all the fun at one of these places during Christmas.
