Some really great tips here for creating a high conversion page.

One point that I can't stress enough is to test, test, test.

Do split tests regularly. Different headlines, different buy now buttons, different prices. See what works best and keep it.

Rememeber - only test one thing at a time or you won't know what worked and what didn't!

I've been using a landing page on my website for a while now... I find it's better than the stereotypical "blog" layout that so many sites utilize. Not that that's a bad thing, but it makes it a bit more unique I think.

You make some great points here. The landing page of your site, is the first impression that the user will see, and as the saying goes, "you don't get a second chance to make a first impression." Having an effective and motivating landing page can easily determine the success or ultimate failure of your site.

Great post - landing pages are so complex really. You can make really minor changes and see huge differences in conversion rates.

I guess it's all about knowing exactly what information the visitor wants and making sure that you provide it in a clear, compelling way. And adding those all important call to actions to get the conversion!

Good tips - I'll be reviewing my landing pages now!

I'm glad I found this post - "make it easy" is my lil' catchphrase for landing pages. It's frustrating when you stumble across a blog (for example) and you've got to register to comment or the captcha doesn't load or something.

Streamline everything; get results.

The response channels on a landing page also help to increase the desired action or conversion from visitors. Many individuals are still hesitant to provide information over the Internet; therefore, a toll-free number can be helpful to: 1)instill confidence in the visitor that the advertised business is legitimate enough to have a phone number and 2)increase conversions by allowing visitors to order or inquire through a channel with which they may be more comfortable. In a similar vein, displaying the business's physical address on the page can also boost visitor confidence and - anything toward this end - will help to boost conversion rate.

How your landing page appears is how the visitor would react to it. I've seen many sites with those flashy landing pages and it just irritated me. Aside from that, if it's advertisement, it should be really well read and not time consuming. Once the visitor had seen what he wanted, it's the time he would go on clicking.

This is some great information! I have struggled for some reason to create a good landing page. I know how important it is to put your best face forward so to speak since it will most often make or break whether the user stays at your site.
