Manage Multiple Blogs with Windows Live Writer

by Danny on August 27, 2010

I recently attended a real estate camp called Real Estate Bar Camp in Orlando Florida. There were many knowledgeable people talking about real estate marketing, blogging, video, and many other topics. One class I attended was how to use Microsoft live writer to blog taught by Chris Griffith of Bonita Springs Real Estate. Although I knew about Microsoft Live Write and used it briefly in the past I never gave it a real shot.

There are many cool features you can use like the ability to write a post offline. The biggest plus I like about windows live is you can setup all your blogs and easily post to the one you want it to go to. It is great for people who have multiple blogs. Another great feature is the ability to automatically insert links to commonly used anchor text phrases which will help your internal linking structure for seo purposes. You can also preview what your post will look like on your blog before publishing it.

So for those who never used Live Writer I highly suggest you give it a whirl. You can download the software for free here download Live Writer.

So are you already using Windows live writer? What has been your experience so far?

I have used Windows Live Writer before, but one thing I don’t like is when Windows Live Writer change my picture file name. For example, if my pic file is “file-name-1.jpg”, it will convert it into “filenameone.jpg.” I´m going to test Zoundry Raven, hopefully these works better than Windows live Writer.
Thanks for the post.

The auto-linking feature is really cool… I’ve an article to be able to import batches, if you need it.

If you’d like, you can leave feedback here for the Windows Live Writer team for suggestions/improvements:

and

There’s a NEW forum, with more activity and more Microsoft techs working it.

Windows Live Writer is a desktop application that makes it easier to compose compelling blog posts using Windows Live Spaces or your current blog service. The first thing to notice about Writer is that it enables true WYSIWYG blog authoring. You can now author your post and know exactly what it will look like before you publish it. Writer knows the styles of your blog such as headings, fonts, colors, background images, paragraph spacing, margins and block quotes and enables you to edit your post using these styles.

I’ve been using it since I started blogging and it’s made life so easy for me. I don’t have to be connected to the internet to draft blog posts. I can do all that on my laptop and when it’s ready I connect to the internet, push the publish button and I’m done ;-) .
Saves me a bit of internet bandwidth too ;-)

Interesting Danny, would recommend it for someone who only has one blog to manage? Currently I only have one and would not want to spend the money if I really don’t need it. However, I may get another blog soon so I should check it out. thank you, Joy

I wouldn’t touch Godaddy hosting with a ten foot pole. Ive heard a lot of horror stories about them. Your best bet is to read some threads here: webhostingtalk.com

Using Blogspot, Live Writer allows you to upload multiple pictures at once, easily.
Before and after roof cleaning pictures are important for our blog, and we need each post to have a lot of them.
