Great to see this post on MMA, since the original post, there have been quite a few changes regarding the organisations able to compete with the UFC and survive. Pride and Strikeforce have been put to rest. As an avid MMA fan, it would be nice to see fighters being able to cross from one organisation to another or have the champs from each organisation fight each other….

Your right, MMA is a very fast growing sport. I use to be a big fan of boxing but boxing seems so boring campared to MMA fighting. A friend of mine is a professional MMA fighter and I am a big fan of the sport.

I enjoy watching all types of sport fighting and mixed martial arts. I know one thing that the UFC did for the public, is that it gave us something more active and reliable to find entertainment in besides, say, heavyweight boxing. I remember back in the day, how exciting it was to watch a heavyweight championship match from people like Mike Tyson, Lennox Lewis, Riddick Bowe, Evander Holyfield, etc. But… Professional boxing has slowly dwindled away over the last several years, as the UFC has climbed to the top. Cheers!

UFC and MMA generally are getting massive in the U.K. now, but we still have a big problem with local government politicians, who think it should be prohibited. I’ve been to a few Mixed Martial Arts tournaments and the atmosphere is always really good. The fighters themselves seem very disciplined. They are proper sportsmen and I really think this kind of activity can transform people, from thugs into self-controlled men.

It was the genius of the UFC to transform MMA into more of a mainstream sport, so politicians and other pain-in-the-ass type people couldn’t so easily knock it or associated with things like ‘cock fighting’.

Thank god for the UFC, they brought MMA out of the dog house and into the spotlight.
