It is amazing the number of real estate agents that still do not utilize or have a web presence of their own. Without a solid website that is able to draw traffic and generate leads it is very difficult to survive in today’s real estate market.

Some agents do not want to be bothered to learn how to optimized for search engines, build a pay per click campaign or just don’t have the tech savvy to do so and that is understandable. If this is the case then it is important to pay a qualified web marketer experienced in getting results in search engine rankings through search engine optimization, and social networking.

The easiest way today to rank in the search engines is through blogs. I love helping real estate agents learn the basics of blogging and help achieve the rankings you desire. I do see a lot of blogs nowadays about the subject of real estate, so I also feel that people in the real estate industry who don’t have online presences may be left behind.

I agree with you that blogs are easy way to get listed in search engine for hot keywords. Unlike websites, blogs need continuous support and updates plus SEO works to stay on top. So, either they employ a person to do the job or completely do it on their own.

@ Maria Getting the blog up and running is the first battle, which so many agents don’t even have I agree that it must be maintained with the newest plugins and consistently upgraded.

@ Chelle Thanks I believe real estate agents now more than ever need to keep up technology and blogs are an easy way once setup and provided with the right tools to be able to capture new real estate leads. Thanks for stopping by.

There are thousands of agents without real estate websites and blogs – there are real estate agents out there who do not even understand how to check their email or send attachments!

You’re giving a great offer here that any agent should take advantage of, especially if the idea of creating a website seems a little daunting!

In my experience I have found many real estate agents to be scared of technology. A lot of them don’t find any need to use the Internet as they still continue to market the old way, door knocking, cold calling, fliers and so on. I find that the majority of agents truly utilizing their websites tend to be of the younger generation, they also tend to have a higher sales volume because they are attracting a much larger audience.

One of these days agents will figure out that if they plan on staying in business they are going to have to learn the online game!

@ Patric I totally agree about learning the online game or you need to pay someone who does have the knowledge to market yourself and properties on the internet.

You`re right. Without a web presence today you can consider yourself a weak agent.

I am too surprised that so many real estate agents do not have websites. It seems that they are missing out on some great opportunities… mostly qualified leads that the internet is so easy of garnering. Kudos on this blog post!

It is hard to believe that there are still professionals who think that an online presence is not important. These days, people tend to go directly to the internet first, mainly because its so much easier. If you or your company is not online then you’re going to get skipped over.
