i am still trying to weed out useful tweets from the primadonas listing useless chit chat. i find that 70% is rubbish and 30% is actually useful ie the right place, right time tweets surrounding breaking news…..maybe i am only exploring 10% of its potential?

My Twitter philosophy has always been the same whether people follow me or if I see Follow Friday recommendations or if I find their Twitter stream from their site or blog.

If I find what they are saying on Twitter interesting – I’ll follow them. If they don’t @reply and every post is a promotion for some crappy product or service, none of which are related to each other in any way… I will not follow you. Even if you are following me.

I want to limit the information I receive to targeted relevant things, otherwise I’d never get anything done through all the clutter!

Thanks for the explanation. Just started on Twitter recently and was wondering what the FF was all about. I’ll have to start paying attention to it since it sounds like participating can be at least somewhat beneficial.

I get a follow friday shout every week and I always wondered what on earth it was all about! I can’t say I’ve seen my follower numbers increase nor have I ever followed any of the other tweets. Might start paying more attention now and see what happens!

I use to follow people all the time. Then it turns out I get way too many tweets than I care about. So now I don’t follow anymore. Most of the tweets are just mindless gibberish anyway.
